Gerard Bauwens is a 35 years old artist from Ghent who slowly but certainly conquers his position between the Flemish artists.
He obtained several awards and since 1977 he had his individual exhibitions at the Gallery Aymon in Ghent, in the meantime this gallery disappeared.
He applies a remarkable technique, curling drawing, totally contradictorimy to the basics learned in the academy.
His exhibition until March 26 in Gallery Vyncke-Van Eyck, consists of 27 drawings with several large formats. The artistic world of Gerard Bauwens is symbolic lyric. The spirit has tendency to decandency what does not mean that this modern exhibition of postures must be rejected as a subject of artistic inspiration.
But we have to mention it. Besides, we hardly know young people who in sucht a perceptive and technical perfect way are able to empathize in a own world of dream and fantasy.
